WRANGLING

Waking up to wrangling and confusion is not the most pleasant experience. Most of us would prefer to wake up to the chirping of birds. There are times, however, when being awake is so critical to our well-being, that the important thing is that we are awake, regardless of the circumstances. The times are such that it is mandatory that every soul be wide awake. No longer can we sleep through life spiritually. We must become aware of who we are, where we came from and where we are going. We must know the purpose for our existence, and we must be committed to fulfilling our mission and purpose despite all odds.

Our world is in a state of confusion, and the wrangling between nations and between different factions has become deafening. We are tempted to tune out everything and everyone and look in another direction. But despite the circumstances, our only hope for survival is in being spiritually awake. When we are spiritually awake we can recognize that the problems in our global community are spiritual, and therefore the solutions must also be spiritual.

When the only hope for survival is spiritual, we know that we must turn to God because he is the only source of spiritual life and wisdom. Only he can instruct us on how to fight a spiritual war. When the times are such that we must be awake spiritually, we know that it is time to become one with God. We also know that we need his indwelling Holy Spirit.
