The presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God is to create a two-way communication between you and God. You always should focus on your heart when you speak to the Holy Spirit of God, as well as when you listen to him. If your focus is in your head, you are not speaking to or listening to God. If you repeatedly seek God's guidance then choose not to follow it, you are saying to him, "My way is much better than yours." If you never seek God's guidance, you are saying to him, "My way is infinitely better than yours." However, the human spirit, by itself, is defenseless against evil. When you understand that your way is equivalent to driving into unknown territory without a road map or a GPS, you will understand the need for the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, and the need to be surrendered. If you are not willing to do what God is saying you should do, then there is no reason to have the indwelling Holy Spirit of God.

When the Lord determines who is most qualified to enter into his Kingdom and to assist him in transforming the world during the next one thousand years, he will choose those who have shown the most compassion to their fellow human beings.
When someone gives you a gift, you assume that they like you. That they gave you a gift is a sign of acknowledgement. We apply this same theory to God, assuming that he gives gifts to those he likes, so that if you are lacking in something, many view it as a sign of God's disapproval. The Bible states that Job was a righteous man, but to many people, obviously not well-liked by God given the many hardships he endured. Difficulty, hardship and pain are never ever from God. Perhaps the Book of Job is worth explaining as a backdrop to this Blog post.
As stated in the Bible, Job was a very righteous man. However, his children's focus was material wealth, parties, and living the good life. Job feared for them, became obsessed with their spirituality, and regularly offered sacrifices on their behalf. Satan targeted Job and his family and wanted to destroy them all. He had no power to take Job's life, but he had authority over the life of Job's children who did not acknowledge God. Job's fear attracted the thing he feared and his children were all killed in a tornado. It was Satan's idea to attack Job. God did not make a deal with the devil except to say, "You cannot take Job's life because he has done nothing at this time that would give you authority over his life." Satan's response was to take Job to the point of deep despair. God could not prevent the disaster brought about by Job's fear and his children's lifestyle, but he pulled Job out of the miry pit by giving him many more children and more wealth that he had ever had. God does the same for us when Satan tries to take us to the depths of despair. He shows up and stops the disaster at whatever point at which our faith has given him authority to stop it. He then proceeds to make up for the pain we endured at the hands of Satan. One might question why it took 41 chapters describing Job's deepening disaster before God eventually blessed Job with more children and more wealth. While God never sends disaster into our lives, his gifts are always "good" gifts, perfectly timed, and designed to draw us into a deeper, more vibrant relationship with him. It took 41 chapters for God to act because any earlier action would have stunted Job's spiritual growth, and perhaps caused a similar derailment in his family life at a later point in time. Both God and Job knew that Job needed to work through this crisis in a methodical manner not only for his personal spiritual growth, but also that of his wife and his friends who, through Job's experience, also saw their need for repentance. When the curtains rise on the opening night of a play, virtually everyone applauds. It is the rare person who sits with their arms folded across their chest. For Christians as well as for disciples of Jesus, Opening Night is the night on which Jesus ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God. Heaven applauded as he rose through the atmosphere to take his seat in heaven, in the same way that a drop of water evaporates and rises to become a cloud. And just as the cloud gives rain that softens the earth and prepares it for planting and for the harvest, so he will return to soften the hearts of men and women and prepare them for the harvest of righteousness.
A curtain separated heaven and earth, but he caused it to split in two to reveal to us the things of God. However, what is revealed is only what we seek. If we don't seek revelation and understanding, we will never understand. If we don't desire the wisdom of God, we will have only the wisdom of this world. The wisdom of this world has led us down a path to destruction. It has caused our institutions to self-destruct, and our governments to collapse. It has caused many who once were angels to become fallen angels, and it has wreaked havoc on our mental and emotional state. When the curtain falls at the end of the play, will you be among the ruins, or will you be onstage, bowing to the applause of heaven? There are two acts to this play. In the first act, you decide whether you wish to use your wisdom, God's wisdom, or the world's wisdom. In the second act, there is only one source of wisdom, one source of power, and one source of understanding. Act 2 begins when Jesus returns to establish his Kingdom on the earth. He will accomplish in one thousand years what we failed to accomplish in six thousand years, and what we never could have accomplished in all of eternity. He will cause righteousness to reign, peace to become our everyday reality, and our joy to become unceasing. In wild Western movies, when someone wanted to be seen, heard and respected, they would ride into the town square holding onto a horse's saddle that had been set on fire. Hence the name of the movie, Blazing Saddles. In today's culture, when someone wants to be seen, heard and respected, they tie themselves to a post in the middle of a busy intersection. The two scenarios are very different, but there usually is no confusion as to the person's desire to be heard. When someone demands to be heard, it's a sign that we should listen.
In recent weeks, cities in the United States have witnessed the escalating tension between law enforcement and Black and Hispanic minority groups who believe that police officers have adopted a "shoot first, ask questions later" attitude that denigrates their civil, human, and constitutional rights and freedoms. The country has discussed and debated these issues ad nauseum over the past several decades, yet a genuine solution seems evasive.
If an officer discharges his revolver and injures or takes the life of someone, the department's procedures should reflect the seriousness of the incident. Here are five procedures that can be implemented to move us toward a long-term, sustainable solution. 1. Administrative Leave An officer who discharges his revolver and injures or kills a civilian should be placed on immediate administrative leave for at least one month. 2. Eye Witness Invitation The officers should provide all those present at the scene of any shooting (whether or not the victim has died) with a department flyer containing a call-in phone number for eye witnesses who wish to testify before a civilian review board, and a separate phone number for those wishing to leave an anonymous voicemail of what they witnessed in regard to the shooting. 3. Psychiatric Evaluation The officer involved should undergo weekly psychiatric evaluation by an independent psychiatrist for at least three months. The psychiatrist should be qualified to deal with post traumatic stress, anger, fear and issues of misplaced authority. 4. Civilian Review (A) Each department should appoint a civilian review board made up of ten diverse members of the community to examine the circumstances, hear actual eye witnesses, and offer any necessary suggestions and/or procedural amendments to the officer, as well as to the department's procedures. (B) The board should have a total of fifteen members, the first ten of whom conduct the review, and five additional substitute members listed in order of department preference in the event that any of the first ten cannot be available to participate in a specific review. (C) Board members for each incident should be paid by the City for each review on an incident basis of approximately $500 for a shooting in a major city with minor injuries, and $1000 for a death or serious long term injury in a major city. Smaller cities can pay less, but at least $100 per board member who participates in reviewing an incident. (D) The conclusions reached by the civilian review board should indicate the date and location of the incident, and whether the discharge was (1) in the ordinary course of duty, (2) subject to recommendations for change made to the officer and/or to the entire department, or (3) subject to disciplinary and other measures. (E) A summary of the conclusions reached and recommendations made by the civilian review board in regard to each incident should be publicly available on the City and State government website within three months of the incident, and should indicate the number of anonymous and live witness accounts considered. 5. State Oversight On an annual basis, a state committee made up of state legislators should review all incident reports prepared by the various civilian review boards, and make recommendations in regard to any needed legislation or legislative amendments. Crises should be dealt with in a structured and proactive manner. That we have gone from Al-Qaeda to ISIS, ISIS to ISIL, and ISIL to Islamic State suggests that our methodology for dealing with certain types of crises is less than ideal.
One current crisis that has the potential to explode in the manner of the Occupy Wall Street movement is the relationship between law enforcement officers in the United States and members of minority groups, particularly Blacks and Hispanics. The individuals who can resolve this issue are essentially in waiting mode, having issued a few frenzied, ill-conceived statements of future plans that are not likely to materialize anytime soon. The hope is that these statements will have a pacifying effect, at least for a time. The next shoe could drop on either side of the issue, either with the shooting of additional police officers, or with another member of a minority group being gunned down, perhaps for stealing a cat, perhaps for reaching for his wallet, or perhaps for carrying a loaded firearm. The idea seems to be that a shoot-to-kill policy is justified for members of Black and Hispanic minority groups, as long as there is at least one identifiable "infraction." When time and circumstances dictate, we must become urgent in dealing with issues that we know are ripe for resolution. Ignoring them, or offering Band-Aid remedies creates a scenario in which the issue begins to demand immediate resolution. Police officers do not need body cameras, faster weapons, or greater access to their ammunition. What they need is a pair of sunglasses through which they can see only one skin color. If everyone is treated with the same degree of respect as is accorded to Caucasian males, the shootings on either side of the issue would become negligible. Being awake in the spiritual realm is very different from being awake in the physical realm. In the physical realm, you are awake when you are conscious, whether or not you are lying down or moving around. In the spiritual realm, you are awake when you are active and in constant, concerted motion. It is impossible to stand still when you are awake spiritually, because being awake is being in motion; it is having one's arms perpetually open to embrace change and growth. If you are not awake spiritually, it is impossible for you to experience a spiritual revival. That would be the equivalent of sleep-walking. If you are not certain that you or your congregation are awake spiritually, ask God to send you a spiritual awakening.
There comes a point when circumstances are such that change is necessary. Change is never easy but where there is change, there is life. And where there is change, there is freedom. One of the things that must change is the way in which I interact. Instead of directly contacting ministries in an attempt to cajole them into moving beyond the status quo, I will primarily use others to make contact, or I will wait for the ministries to contact me.
The ministries, synagogues, mosques and their Imams, Priests and Rabbis, as well as other religious entities that desire change should feel free to contact me at any time. I always will be available to answer questions, and to offer guidance. For any and every religious entity, there is no charge for contacting me other than what the entity might wish to donate. Donations will not be tax deductible. In order to contact me, you can send an email, make a phone call, or speak to me through the spirit realm in the language of the Holy Spirit. Yesterday's Blog describes how to speak in the language of the Holy Spirit. If you speak in your native language in the spirit realm, you should know that others can hear the conversation. If both or all parties to a conversation speak in the language of the Holy Spirit, no one else can hear the conversation. Consultations in the spirit realm are never free of charge, everyone always is compensated. If you are unable or unwilling to make a donation, you should know that God will make one on your behalf. If you seek prayer for healing, there also is no charge, and the same principles apply. God will judge the hearts by the willingness to seek counsel. Secrets are one of the most potent drains on your energy. When you feel compelled to hold onto a secret, Satan knows that vast amounts of your natural energy will be unavailable to you. The more secrets you hold, the greater the drain on your energy. If you seek a major boost in your energy levels, identify one of your deepest, darkest secrets and reveal it to God. Set up any scenario you find most comfortable--a coffee shop, kneeling in your bedroom, walking in the park or near the ocean, or any other place that you find conducive to talking with Him. Tell Him, speaking from the heart in the language of the Holy Spirit, all the things you would not dare tell anyone else. You can speak in the language of the Holy Spirit by having in your mind the intent to speak on a specific issue, then saying one sound at a time quickly or slowly while focusing on your heart. Give Him every detail regarding your motivation, your feelings, your thoughts and attitudes. If repentance and/or forgiveness is needed, repent, seek His forgiveness, and request His guidance on moving forward.
The word Supreme is described in dictionaries as meaning absolute, incomparable, matchless, preeminent, transcendent, unsurpassable and sovereign. In the context of these meanings, when we speak of El Shaddai as the Supreme God, we have a better understanding of who he is. He is unsurpassable and sovereign. He is preeminent and transcendent. He is matchless and incomparable. He is the Supreme God over all and in all. He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end. He is the one in whom men place their trust.
The God of Creation is the Father in heaven, El Elohim. He is the God whose Spirit embodied Jesus of Nazareth, and empowered him to be sinless. It is because of the Spirit of El Elohim that Jesus of Nazareth was sinless. It is because of the Spirit of El Elohim that Jesus of Nazareth was enabled to become the perfect sacrifice for all of humanity. And it is because of the Supreme Holy Spirit of El Shaddai that all three are one, and that we also can become one with God. Computers are very easily infiltrated. The average computer system can be breached by an astute twelve year old. Systems are easily breached in at least one of six different ways. The first method is that a sister computer in the same office can be used to infiltrate and copy information from the computer. The second method is that a third computer can be channeled through a second computer and the third computer used to infiltrate and copy information from the first computer. The information goes through but bypasses the second computer and most investigations are unable to identify the third computer.
The third method is that a smartphone being used by someone in the vicinity is used to access and copy information from the computer. The fourth method is that a remote computer is channeled into the computer system through an app, an open email account, or an insecure program and information is sent through the app, the email account or the program to the remote computer. Computer security systems generally focus on protecting the computer from direct access, as opposed to indirect access through an otherwise approved access point. The fifth method is that an embedded spy program in the computer is told to send certain information to another sister computer in the same company or institution. The sixth and most popular method is that someone in the office directly accesses a computer that is not shut down at the end of the work day. Most employees are of the view that shutting down the computer and rebooting it the next day drains more electricity than leaving it on during the night. When the computer is on and unattended at night, all the first five methods of breaching it are simplified. Office computers should be shut down individually at the end of the day, and the entire office server protected by an "off" switch. Individuals needing remote access at night could be routed through a different server that provides access only to information that is specifically requested by an authorized individual. In addition, a firewall should be constructed against all email accounts so that they never have access to information on the computer. Apps and programs should gain access to other information only if activated by the specific identified computer on which they are located, and the access should be relevant to the app or program. If you require additional information specific to your business or government entity in regard to securing your computer and server systems, please visit my consulting website at www.RebekahIsaac.com for contact information. Joy is an emotion that is difficult to characterize. One can laugh with joy or shed tears of joy. Joy can be raucous and filled with emotion, or it can be a peaceful inner experience. When infants and children experience joy, they shriek with delight. When adults experience joy, it radiates from their core. If you have never experienced sheer joy, take a moment to imagine how it might feel to experience it.
Imagine, for example, that the chaos on the earth has reached epic proportions and bodies are flung everywhere, piled high from varying daily disasters, or from outright murder. Every major economic or religious institution is crumbling or has collapsed. Government coups occur daily or weekly. You are not certain what the next day will bring, and whether the earth will ever stop reeling from the relentless daily onslaught. The days are long, dark and dreary, and hope is almost lost. Suddenly, El Elohim the God of creation breaks through the divide between heaven and earth. His powerful magnetic field draws the faithful to him in a never-before-experienced rapture. They are drawn out of the earth just prior to the final damming onslaught that very few are able to survive. The feeling of relief is palpable, and tears cascade down the cheeks of those for whom hope had almost been lost. The moon is not a planet any more than the sun is a planet. The sun is the life-force of every planet. Some planets have two suns, generally because of extreme darkness. When the sun is shining brightly, it is a sign that all is well in that area of the planet at that specific hour or time. If the skies are cloudy, it usually means that something disastrous is happening. If the sun is hidden, it signifies that something shameful is happening on a major corporate or governmental level.
It seems unbelievable that actions and emotions on the planet, instead of weather systems, can influence the visibility and brightness of the sun. However, the sun's rays or aura encompasses every corner of the planet and every human being on the planet. Under these circumstances, it would be difficult for the sun not to be influenced by and/or reflect the actions and emotions on the planet. Every aspect of the planet and its systems interact with each other. When the sun, moon and stars are in perfect relationship to each other, the earth will be at peace. It will be a time when nothing is what it shouldn't be and everything is as it should be. It will be a time when the sun, moon and stars become one, so that there is no longer any distinction between them. When we look at the moon, we think of it as a circular planet with lots of light. Not only is the moon not a planet, but also, it has no inherent light. The moon reflects the light of the sun. Its surface is such that light is not absorbed into it but instead, bounces off of it. In contrast, a black hole, which is an area of the universe that is opposed to God, absorbs all light from every possible source. It sucks the light and the life out of the universe. Moons and black holes exist throughout our universe, and throughout every other universe. If our goal is to increase the amount of light in our world and in our universe, we all must become spiritual moons--we must reflect the light of God. Only God knows which thoughts, words and actions will increase spiritual light. He detailed them in the Bible.
When something is made or created in a specific country, there is a sense of joy and pride if the product is useful, functions well, and is accepted. If the product malfunctions, we prefer not to associate with it. The same is true of religion and spirituality. When religion is responsive, practical, and yields solutions to our problems, we engage with it. However, if it is ineffective and incapable of offering solutions to our many problems, our tendency is to reject it.
The spiritual laws of the universe are such that human beings always will be attracted to anything that promotes life and livelihood. If they view church or religion as promoting life, they will be drawn to it. If they get more insight about life from the New Age guru, they will be drawn to him. Churches will not continue to exist if spiritually, they offer the equivalent of functional illiterates--individuals who go through the motions at each Sunday service, yet show no evidence of spiritual growth and change. Only by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit are we capable of genuine spiritual growth and change. No trip of any significant length or duration can be taken without the expectation that you will need to make turns; either right turns, left turns, and sometimes a 180 degree turn. If the goal is to arrive safely at your destination, then, when the road ahead indicates that a turn is necessary, you prepare for and make the turn. Globally, the evidence suggests that it is time for our churches as a whole to make a critical and mandated turn. That turn must be toward the light of God, because only a massive infusion of light can obliterate the rapidly growing spiritual darkness in our world. If you live in New York City, you know that there seems to be night-time road construction happening almost every couple of miles on some New York City roads. At night, the construction crews use multiple large flood lights to light the construction sites. If instead they chose to rely on a few candles, major problems and accidents would occur in the darkness of night. Our churches are attempting to deal with major issues in the church and in the world while holding the equivalent of tiny candles, and rejecting God's offer of a massive infusion of light. In the darkness of the last days, God promised in the Bible that he would pour out his Holy Spirit on all people (Joel 2:28). He is the only source of spiritual light. You may not believe that we are in the last days of the tribulation and of life as we know it. However, if you are witnessing the growing darkness and are facing intractable and insoluble problems, you have nothing to lose by asking God for an infusion of the light of his Holy Spirit. Otherwise, any attempt at spiritual reconstruction is certain to end in disaster. Most importantly, the failure to make a clearly essential turn or turnaround is certain to end in spiritual derailment. The word "extremism" has been used quite frequently in recent months to describe the terrorist actions of ISIS and other entities. It is a soft and malleable word that can become dangerously over-inclusive. It suggests that anyone with strong, independent or non-conformist views and ideas on any topic, but particularly issues related to religion and spirituality, can suddenly become a victim of government-approved hatred and discrimination.
We would never apply the word "extremist" to someone who trains twelve hours a day for an Olympic medal, because intense training is what winning requires. Nor would we apply the word "extremist" to a pro-football team that pays millions of dollars to a young recruit. The problem is not "extremism" but rather, hatred, and groups that promote hatred. There are many things that should be done in the extreme, such as promoting love, joy and peace. If we give the impression that anything done in the extreme, even if motivated solely by love, is anathema to society, we risk relegating society and ourselves to a mundane, apathetic and passionless existence. Many people decide in their twenties and thirties what they wish to do as a career. It is the time when you name a college major, intern for various companies, or experience a few jobs before deciding on a permanent career path. There are others who do not decide on a career until later in life, others who switch to a different career after engaging in one for many decades, and still others who seem to know from the moment of birth what they are destined to do on this earth. Despite all the effort that goes into choosing a career, ultimately many people hate their career choice and wish they had chosen a different path.
Choosing a career should not be rocket science because pre-determined in your spirit is the perfect career path that will bring you the greatest joy. It is the path of least spiritual resistance. There may be significant resistance and opposition from outside forces, but in your spirit, you feel a sense of peace. Imagine what our world would be like if everyone always chose the perfect career path, doing what they were destined to do, doing what brings them the deepest sense of satisfaction. Today, it is not too late to decide that you want to find that path of least spiritual resistance. You may need to switch careers, or perhaps add another activity to a current career path. Know with certainty, however, that our world will begin to heal when you and others find and embark upon that path of least spiritual resistance. It always is the path that draws you closer to God, and enables you to know your deepest self. When you identify the correct path, there often are different ways of getting to it. Be certain that the route you take also is the route of least spiritual resistance. Heaven is here on earth. It is not the earth we now have, but rather, the earth that the Father in heaven designed as a residence for his human creation. Of course, there is another heaven where our God resides, but the human heaven is here on earth. After the Kingdom of God has been established on the earth for one thousand years, and Satan has been vanquished, as described in Revelation 20, we will have a new heaven and a new earth. The Father in heaven will come to live with us on the new earth, as described in Revelation 21. These basic biblical teachings are not difficult to understand. There are some, however, who prefer to teach that the Bible should never be taken literally, which means that none of it is actually true.
The idea that God gave us 66 books of a Bible that contains all lies and fairy tales could only have come from Satan. Either the Bible is true or it is full of lies and fairy tales. If it is all lies and fairy tales, then I don't need to attend a church service every Sunday to listen to a sermon that helps to perpetuate these lies, and I also don't need to tithe my income to anyone. I can purchase a CD from the latest New Age guru, or any other person that seems legitimate, if all I need is a few pointers on living life my way. "Rolling with the punches" is a common English idiom which means to adjust one's position or adapt quickly to a series of challenges, hardships or to direct blows one may unexpectedly experience, so as to decrease their impact. Rolling with the punches enables one to remain afloat in situations in which everyone around you is sinking. It empowers you to see the next blow before it arrives so that you can begin to quickly adjust. In the process of adjusting, you "pull out all the stops" and "leave no stone unturned" because you want to avoid or diminish the impact of the next blow. That is, you do everything necessary and possible to avoid being hit. We have arrived at a point in time when we need to "pull out all the stops" as we begin to prepare for the coming Kingdom of God, for which we pray every Sunday morning in virtually every church. Everything that can be done should be done. This is not the time to test the waters on one issue before moving on to the second issue. Instead, we need to do everything we can, all at the same time, and we need "all hands on deck." The process does not need to be chaotic; it can be thoughtful and methodical, but the decision-making must be quick, spirit-filled, and spirit-led. To the extent that our decision-making is limited to analytical discussions about what is best for our future, and how we can maintain the status quo as to who we are, yet move forward in our mission, we are destined to be hit with the next blow. Everything is subject to change when the decision-making is spirit-filled and spirit-led. But God guarantees that the Spirit always will lead us to the right path. He can see into our future, and he knows all of the right and left turns that lay ahead. When you know that heaven is real, and you know that your God is alive, the longing for his kingdom to be established on the earth becomes an all-consuming passion.
When the going gets tough, the spiritual, godly person increases their degree of surrender to the Lord God Almighty, and continues relentlessly to move forward.
Laughter is supposed to be a powerful antidote to worry, illness and many other issues. Many have claimed they were cured of illness by daily watching or listening to comedy shows. It is difficult to have a genuine laugh in the midst of negative circumstances. However, even a fake laugh can cause hormones to surge through the body and wipe out negative emotions.
If you engage in a daily routine of physical exercise, add to it five minutes of deep silent laughter by smiling broadly and exercising your laughing mechanism. The focus on laughing will generate multiple positive spiritual benefits. This exercise is direct from the Holy Spirit. I just tried it briefly and am confident that the practice will begin to erase negative emotions and the hormones that accompany them. Aging is not what everyone believes it is. We assume that everyone will age, and that as we grow older the cells in our bodies lose elasticity, lose their ability to absorb water and nutrients, and therefore are not as strong and healthy as they are in our youth. In fact, the opposite is true. As we grow older, the cells in our bodies become stronger, are more elastic, and more proficient at absorbing water and nutrients. This strengthening process plateaus between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-five, but every cell in our body that is created after that time should have the same or a similar degree of strength and elasticity as if we were twenty-five to thirty-five years old. The problem of aging is not in our cells, but rather, in our spirit and in our ways of thinking.
As we grow older, many of us become more cynical, more angry, more restless and worried, more hateful, more fearful, more unforgiving, more ballistic, and more greedy. These negative energies have a murderous effect on the tiny cells and blood vessels in our bodies. Most importantly, they block the energy flow of the entire body. If the cells have no energy, they cannot function. It is not that they lack the capacity to absorb energy, but rather, the energy is not flowing to and into them. For example, in the case of a drought, the problem is not that you no longer know how to drink water, but that there is no water to drink. When water again becomes available, you would be fully capable of drinking. In the case of the body's cells, we assume that artificially injecting water into them is the magic cure for wrinkles and other signs of aging. In fact, plumping cells with artificially injected water is destructive of the cell wall and causes greater harm than the original dehydration. The only permanent solution for aging is spiritual and physical cleansing. When we cleanse the body of all spiritual and physical blockages, the cells resume their normal functions, and everything we eat and drink becomes a consumable source of energy, as long as it is a natural food that has not been genetically modified. Genetically modified foods may give the appearance of providing energy, but they in fact deplete the body's energy reserves. At some point, I or another inspired person will write a book on spiritual and physical cleansing, but for the present, we can begin to cleanse spiritually by taking every negative thought captive, and conforming it to the energy of love. |
