When the ether decides that a new discipline is required in order to address an area of unique concern, he reveals a new name that then must be captured and utilized in a manner that befits the circumstances. Such was the case when specialty disciplines such pharmacist, endocrinologist, and brain surgeon came into existence. One of the newest disciplines in the area of theology is Millennial Eschatology which represents a merger of eschatology and millennialism. Eschatology is the study of circumstances and events surrounding the end of the Church Age, while millennialism is the study of circumstances and events surrounding the millennial reign on earth of God's coming kingdom, as described in Revelation 20.
Virtually every aspect of corporate, governmental, institutional and individual life will be enhanced and/or remedied with the application of methodologies that are cognizant of the influence of Millennial Eschatology. In the same way that oxygen or water maintain the same incorruptible chemical makeup in our bodies, in the ocean, or in the soil, similarly, Millennial Eschatology touches every area of our life and utilizes the same eternal and enduring spiritual principles to enhance every area. If we ignore it, we do so at our peril and are not likely to discover genuine and sustainable solutions.
Millennial Eschatology is here to stay for at least the next one thousand years as we bring our world and our lives out of the ether of degradation. When the thousand years are completed, the ether will give us the name of a new discipline to describe the new circumstances. Hopefully it will have a name that will enhance our capacity to embrace the change.
I looked out into the ether of heaven and saw a brilliant dazzling image--like highly polished sparkling diamonds, defying gravity--suspended in darkness, yet untouched by it. He was human in form but God in Spirit, holding heaven behind the curtain of darkness, so that eyes may not see what eyes should not see.
