PROPHECIES

Whenever the Lord God Almighty chooses to do something prophetic, it is because he knows that only a prophecy can fix the problem. Prophecies are different from decrees and commands because they require that the Lord God Almighty take into consideration all of the known and unknown factors that might affect the outcome.

​With decrees and commands, the Lord simply says what needs to be said. There often is no additional information that needs to be taken into consideration that might affect the timing, the outcome, or other factors. Prophecies often have varying anticipated lengths of time for fulfillment, depending on the circumstances. The Lord God Almighty also must take into consideration the vagaries of human nature.

If you want the Lord God Almighty to assist you in accomplishing a goal, ask him to issue a decree as to when the goal will be accomplished. If you want him to command a result, ask him to issue a command. But if you want him to take all of the future circumstances into consideration before issuing a decree or a command, ask him instead for a prophecy. Prophecies will never fail to be fulfilled, however, depending on the circumstances, fulfillment may take one day, one year, or perhaps two thousand years, or more.
