Plantains are one of the most nutritious foods on the planet. They also are extremely filling. Most children would prefer to have plantains (boiled, grilled, or fried) for dinner, instead of having to go to sleep on an empty stomach.
Given the wide array of relatively inexpensive foods in the United States of America, and the availability of food stamps for families with children, if you have a kitchen in which to prepare meals, it is inexcusable for young children not to have daily, satisfying meals.
