PINCHING THE ENEMY

Most of us would choose peace over war every time. But when forced to engage the enemy in a war, the potential for success depends in part on the type and nature of your weapons, in comparison with the enemy's weapons. If the enemy is using knives and swords, then you too should have knives and swords, or perhaps better and more powerful weapons (Luke 22:35-36; John 18:10). If the enemy has bombs, then you too should have bombs, if you expect to win the war. And of course, if the enemy is only five years old and pinches you, then your fingers are all you need for the defense.

Success in a spiritual war also depends in part on the type and nature of your weapons in comparison with the enemy's weapons. If the enemy's weaponry relies on some of the most sophisticated spiritual principles, you would be advised to match or exceed the power of his weaponry. If you are ill prepared for the war, seeking out alliances is just as important as it is in a physical war.

If the enemy is Satan and his cohorts, know with certainty that you are no match for them unless you seek alliances. The Holy Spirit of God is the only person who has weapons that are capable of matching and exceeding the power of Satan's weapons. When he enters your heart and solar plexus, he empowers you to fight successfully a war that you otherwise would lose. However, his powers manifest only to the extent that you are willing to surrender the childlike methodologies. When you know that the enemy intends to crush you, you also must have an intent to crush him, because when in imminent danger, self defense in perfectly acceptable in the eyes of God Almighty.
