PHILIPPIANS

The Book of Philippians in the Bible is one of my favorite books. It was written by the apostle Paul, and is meant to encourage those in Philippi to continue their pursuit of righteousness. They are a group of people whose desire to live in conformity with God’s standards is unsurpassed. They want their relationship with God more than they want the breath of life.

I have always admired the Philippians, not only because of their zeal for God, but also because of their pursuit of righteousness. I want that same zeal, that same passion for righteousness, that unwavering commitment to truth. I want God’s truth to be the only thing I hear, the only thing on which I will meditate, the only thing I will obey. When eternity comes home, I want truth, and truth alone, to have been my guiding principle.
