God works in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform. There are many people who still are deeply troubled and even fearful about the results of the last general election. We each assumed that we knew with certainty who was most equipped to be the next president of the United States. The day after the election, liberal entities opened wide their doors to comfort those who mourned the impending loss of freedoms they had come to cherish.
But God works in mysterious ways. The truth is that we had come to a point at which we were becoming intolerant of each other and of opposing viewpoints. We assumed that there was no need to reach across the aisle to share our perspective in a manner that can be understood and appreciated, even if not agreed with. We were beginning to associate in factions that thought like us, refusing to hear or consider any differences that might "tarnish" our views. God eschews factions and divisions, especially among those who claim to be his children. He desires that we live in community with one another. Living in community compels adherence to a higher standard. It is a standard at which all needs are met, all views are considered, and all differences are mitigated. It also is a standard at which all enemies are forgiven. When we each aspire to that standard, we will find that we indeed have things in common with one another and hold views similar to one another. We also will find that we no longer think that the world will end if we are not in control.
