On a rainy December day in New York City, one might be left wondering why there is no snow, and why the weather seems somewhat confused. We refer to it as global warming, but God calls it Messianic Warming. His view is that the weather and the earth are warming to the fact that the Messiah's return is near. Deuteronomy 28:24 states that snow is a curse. Thus, when the Messiah is on the earth during his prophesied millennial reign, there should be an absence of snow. Instead, we'll have rain, sunshine, more rain, and more sunshine.
Although I am not an avid skier, I know that avid skiers will not be thrilled at the idea of not having snow. Snow-making machines are often readied as early as September. Skiers should know that snow is indeed a curse. Rain is absorbed into successive layers of earth until it reaches the core. The earth's core is extremely hot. The Holy Spirit reveals that it requires ten gallons of water to cool each square foot of the earth's core. When snow falls over an extended period, the earth's surface remains frozen, the core overheats, and the subsequent result is volcanic eruptions. Personally, I would choose the absence of snow if it meant avoiding a volcanic eruption. If we continue to try to manipulate weather patterns so that parts of the earth's surface remain frozen for months, we might find that the hot price of skiing is a rapid increase in volcanic activity.
