BREAKING AWAY

When the devil wants to convince us that his way is best, he makes us believe that his way is really our way. He knows that we would never agree to do something if he were to confess openly that it was part of his plan to destroy the kingdom of God. He knows also that we love the idea of doing good, so his requests are couched in terms that seem to propel us toward a higher good. We need to know that the devil is incapable of doing good. Most importantly, he never keeps his promises.

The Lord God Almighty is a God whose promises never fail. He knows that when a promise is made, it will be kept. However, God’s promises will manifest for us only to the extent that we do what he tells us to do. If we do only what the indwelling Holy Spirit Of God tells us to do, we can be guaranteed that his promises always will manifest. If we do only what we think is best, we should know that his promises can never manifest in an ether of disobedience. The Lord God Almighty is indeed El Shaddai. The Lord God Almighty is true.
