In Jewish religious folklore, every seven years is a year of renewal. In years of renewal, the land is at rest, the animals are at rest, and the people are at rest. When everything and everyone is at rest, God's ability to communicate is significantly increased. When he speaks, he is heard, and when he is heard, he is more likely to be obeyed. Jewish folklore also states that when there are seven consecutive years of renewal, the fiftieth is a year of Jubilee. Years of Jubilee are unique in that they are not only years during which everything and everyone is at rest, but also, they are years of celebration.
Rarely does the Jewish calendar coincide with the Roman calendar. However, in 2017 which coincides with the Jewish calendar year of 5777, both years end with a seven. They are also known to be a Jubilee year, a year of celebration.
