CHANGING WORLD

The notion that everyone on earth could be part of God's kingdom is equivalent to saying that everyone in the United States of America can be an employee of the federal government. Being in the kingdom is a job unlike any other, but it is a job nonetheless. It requires commitment, devotion, and energy. It also requires a sense of urgency. No one who desires to be in the kingdom of God can feel comfortable with the status quo, nor can anyone who loves people. The test of whether you can be happy in the kingdom of God is whether you wake up each morning wishing that the world were a different place, and hoping for a different life. Those are the people who are most motivated to seek a changed world. And they are the ones who have become the most transformed disciples of Jesus. They desire to change the world, but they also know that change begins with them. Change is their occupation. Change is their life's work. Change is their life. Thus sayeth the Lord God Almighty.
