The problem with anger is that when it happens, it catches you unawares. One moment you are calm and peaceful and in the next, you experience a trigger that sets you off on a tangent. You are never prepared for the anger to happen. You always assume that the day will continue as calmly as it began, and when it does not, you are just as surprised as everyone else who did not expect to see you get angry. On the one hand, you feel upset at yourself for getting angry, but you also feel a sense of relief. You are glad that you did not allow yourself to feel as though you had been rolled over by a tractor trailer.
Anger is meant to be expressed and never suppressed. It is one of those emotions that has a corrosive spiritual effect if it is not expressed. The secret of the spiritually enlightened is that they channel the anger as soon as the trigger happens. There is a spiritual pathway through which every feeling of anger can be released, and that pathway leads from the eyes, down through the esophagus, into the urinary tract, and out of the body. As soon as you sense that a trigger is about to happen, send the anger out of your body through the spiritual pathway. You will be amazed at the instant feeling of calm that you experience. Practice now with the last trigger you experienced. Practice now with every recurrent trigger that you have ever experienced.
